Spišská Nová Ves is a city located practically on the border of the Slovak Paradise - the second most visited destination in Slovakia, right after the High Tatras. It is an ideal starting point for hiking enthusiasts, along the rugged but picturesque gorges at the same time in the National Park Slovak Paradise. It is also place for admirers of remains registered in UNESCO World Heritage list, as well as for those who are interested in inconspicuous places, but all the more precious memorials on the Gothic way.

In the city you can see as well the longest lentictular square in Europe, the highest church tower in Slovakia (87 m high), the smallest and youngest ZOO in Slovakia, Unique and impressive mosaic in the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Lord, Provincial house with painted stucco decoration and cartouche symbolism, Mariansky Column which was built in memory of victims of pestilence with statue of Immaculata, Town hall and the Evangelical Church built in evangelical style and Secession Redoute which is still used for plays, concerts and café purposes. Wide range of cultural and sporting events provides plentitude opportunities for a pleasant stay throughout the year.
