Bojnice is referred to as the "prehistoric cradle" of Slovakia‘s inhabitants and it ranks among the most important Paleolithic sites reaching European dimension. Thousands of artifacts have been found on various locations where the prehistoric Neanderthal people lived, being the evidence of the life of the Neanderthals in the present territory of the town. Nowadays archeologists consider Bojnice as the site with the most plentiful findings proving the Slovak Paleolithic history.
The main aim of the Prehistoric Museum is to connect interesting way our history with the present time also supporting today´s young artists. Therefore, we place space and opportunity at promising authors´ disposal to exhibit their works (such as statues, posters, large photos, etc.) in the museum´s outdoor during the summer.
