In modern times Litmanová village got into awareness particularly in connection with the apparitions of Virgin Mary at the top Zvir situated about five kilometers from the beginning of the village close to the Polish borders. The authenticity of these apparitions is still under examination of the church. Virgin Mary appeared to two girls, then eleven years old Iveta Korčáková and twelve years old Katarína Češelková in a little room of the wooden cabin (Maidan) which still stands in a meadow surrounded by the forest. The name of mount Zvir is a garbled word originating in the word Zvor, which is the name for the slope joint created by the locals.
