Visitors can learn about the history of Svidník in the Slovak National Museum - the Museum of Ukrainian Culture. It includes not only the open-air folk museum but also the Dezider Milly Gallery. The amphitheatre annually holds the Festival of Ruthenian-Ukrainian Culture in Slovakia, the oldest folklore festival in Slovakia. The open-air museum concentrates most typical monuments of folk architecture and housing in this part of Slovakia. The moved and reconstructed buildings hold typical folk furniture, home inventory, traditional working tools and pieces of folk art. Besides the main types of dwellings, there are also all types of traditional farm buildings presented in the exhibition: barns, pigsties, granaries, mows, cellars, wells, and other smaller constructions. These objects serve for the installation of traditional agricultural tools – different types of wagons, plows, harrows, bins, baskets for corn, and other various tools.
