The New chateau was build in 1564 – 1571 on the Dievčenský hill. The New chateau was one of the guardian towers, which were protecting the town against the Turkey invasion. The fortress has been reconstructed several times, but has kept six floors and many corner bastions and gun-pits up to nowadays. Inside the New chateau you will find an exposition speaking about anti-turkey battles in Slovakia. From the highest floor of the chateau you will experience a magnificent view on the town.
