Mint in Kremnica is one of the oldest and continuous operating businesses in Europe, which exists since the 14th century. There are constantly minting the state money, commemorative coins and medals. In 16th century the mint was considered as a single fortified building with its own arsenal of weapons. In the Mint there is also a former treasure which was built into the Renaissance column. Today's facade is in classical style. Mint in Kremnica produced coins for countries such as Algeria, Tunisia, Cuba, Rep.Guinea, Sudan, Rep. Mali in recent years for Bangladesh, Mauritania, Slovenia, Ukraine and India. At the end of the 19th Century this Mint was the only mint in Kingdom of Hungary.
