The low mountain range of the Malé Karpaty (the Small Carpathians) is long about 100 km. It begins in Bratislava on the Danube river and wanders off up to the town called as Nové Mesto nad Váhom. Carpathians went down to posterity of the World War II, during which the surrounding forests served to the partisans as a place of their meetings and fights for liberation of Bratislava city. The Small Carpathians are a suitable place for tourism. Forests, in which many undemanding hiking trails can be found here, are predominantly deciduous forests. They are visited especially by the domestic inhabitants of neighbouring towns, for example, from Bratislava. The Small Carpathians are an ideal place for weekend tourism and stay in the nature. In addition to the tourism, this area also offers the opportunities for skiing on the important mountain pass of this mountain, and it is Pezinská Baba. The Small Carpathians are also the good place for picnics and sports activities. Make you also a time for undemanding ramble and go for a walk along the beautiful surrounding forests.
