A picturesque countryside of Gemer situated in the heart of Slovakia has been of old regarded as a “little Europe” or a smaller version of the Hungarian kingdom. Its mountains, valleys, and towns became a setting for our – European history. Unique collections of the castle museum and metamorphoses of architecture therein attract visitors virtually from all the world. The main component of the collection is mostly constituted by weaponry, which has been on exhibition here already since 19th century. Exceptionally valuable nowadays are the contemporary photographs of the furnished castle interior from the break of 19th and the beginning of 20th century that document the original appearance of the old exposition. In the castle, you will also see the so-called basset horns exhibited in a small music lounge – there are 3 of the world's 8 total. The Krásna Hôrka castle also offers valuable collections of historical furniture, mainly from 18th and 19th centuries.
