Kežmarok can be called the unique pearl of the Tatras. Its unique historic valuable is a wooden articular church included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is one of the five unimpaired churches of its kind in the central Europe. The streets of Kežmarok hide many sights - evangelical seminary with 150 000 volumes of books, the Church of the Cross and many others. There is Kežmarský Castle - the only completely preserved castle of Spiš. The first written mention dates back to 1463. Originally it had double walls and a moat. Tragic story of princess Beáta Laská is connected with the castle. Die to her visit of Zelené pleso her husband walled her up in the castle tower where she spentat least six years. The outlook tower is a part of the castle tour.
