Jasov cave is situated in the western part of Košická hollow-basin. As the first cave in Slovakia, it was opened for public in 1846. The attention of visitors is attracted by stalagmites, stalagnates, “stony” waterfalls, drums, finery and other forms of sinter decoration. The Jasov cave is also eminent for particular species of bats, the Greater Horseshoe bat (Rhinolophus ferrum equinum) find their refuge here during long winter months.
