Banská Bystrica

Banská Bystrica

Present and past history blend together in the centre. Banská Bystrica remembers the 13th century, beginnings of the mining works in the region and it was the birthplace of the Slovak National Uprising during the World War II. Banská Bystrica is famous for traditional Radvan markets offering traditional folk products and specialities. Vista points of the historical square are once barbican with tower, parish church dated back to the year 1255 and great number of other remarkable monuments. The unique is the slim Clock tower with the splendid outlook over the vicinity. The Banská Bystrica town can be justifiably proud of the Square of the Slovak National Uprising (SNP) with the unrivalled heart-shaped monument of the Slovak National Uprising (SNP) with the historical collection from the World War II. more information about Banská Bystrica town and attractions in surroundings...
